Hi, I’m Michelle!
Welcome to Witchy Weird!
My name is Michelle, and I’m a stay at home mom, modern homemaker, and full-time blogger with a passion for all things witchy and weird!
In 2014, I started my first successful blog, Dishes & Dust Bunnies, to connect with others interested in recipes and homemaking.
This blog… lol… is something different…
Witchy Weird began in 2020 as an extension and creative outlet to share my interests in spirituality, the occult, the mysterious and the paranormal.
Who am I?
I’m a proud east coast Canadian, originally from the rural countryside of New Brunswick, where I grew up on my grandparent’s traditional farm. Once I started university and met my future husband, I married then packed up for a new life in the big ol’ city of Toronto.
As a bit of a black sheep with a deep appreciation for the dramatic, I’m still very much a country girl at heart – and that shows through the passion I have for cooking as well as the domestic arts. ❤️
I balance my domestic passions and my love of studying the occult arts, magick, spirituality and all things witchy and weird.

How did I get into this “dark sided stuff“? ?
I’ve been studying spirituality and the occult since I was around just 7 years old when I found a tiny book hidden away in a closet (more on that in a future post)… During my childhood and teen years I hid these interests from my incredibly religious Christian family. I have a lot of stories to tell… ex. at 15 years of age I was taken into the basement of my church and given an exorcism… not kidding when I say I’ve experienced some shit! ? More about that in a future post!
Once I reached adulthood, I continued my study and devoured as much information as possible and swiftly incorporated the practices I learned into my life. I found peace and comfort in studying magick, spirituality and the occult but gradually, as time went on and as my life threw some heavy challenges my way my spirituality slipped to the wayside. If you’re new here on Witchy Weird, I’ve talked quite a bit about my struggles with anxiety disorder, grief and trauma on my other blog.
Witchy Weird is part of how I go about self-care. This stuff makes me happy. ❤️
Witchy Weird was created as an outlet to freely express and share all the witchy and occult things that fill my heart with joy and peace. I love to write, and my biggest passion by far has always been my spirituality as well as the thirst for drinking out of the forbidden cup of knowledge… in fact, I’m even more passionate about this than cooking and recipes!
I love my recipe blog (Dishes & Dust Bunnies) and the people who join me there, but I just don’t feel like it’s a safe space for me yet to share my stories and experiences with the occult. Many folks who follow me over there are only interested in recipes/homemaking and are scared/nervous/quick to judge about topics involving the occult. I love and appreciate all my followers, but many of them aren’t ready to learn about my “darker” passions. Those who are interested will find me here. ❤️❤️
This is my safe place (and yours!) to freely share, learn and discuss all things witchy & weird. ❤️
